This months guest blogger is Ciara Brickley from Food fashion and the Fight. Ciara is a young woman who has been battling cancer for the past 18 months. She recently finished her treatment and is excited about getting back to normal. Ciara has maintained an amazingly positive attitude throughout her fight with cancer and has shared all her experiences as well as her love of fashion and beauty on her blog. She was a finalist at the 2015 Irish Blog Awards and just last week was awarded the Bloggers Choice Award for Best Health Blog. Here she talks about her move to a more colorful fashion future and she has put together three looks from Opera Lane of her top picks this season.
Opera Lane has always been my favourite destination for shopping in Cork. All my favourite shops in close proximity (River Island, New Look and H&M) and of course when I need to take a break I love the cosy atmosphere upstairs in Starbucks. There have been many times when I have had to pick up an outfit last minute and I have never failed in finding what I need at Opera Lane
Take a look inside my wardrobe and you will see a rail full of pastels and nudes. I made a promise to myself that this summer I am going to make a change and introduce some serious colour. What I have learned is that colour really complements the Irish skin tone – bright reds, royal blues, hot pinks. Colour does not mean that you have to compromise on style. I have taken some of the seasons biggest trends and shown how you can easily add colour to your outfit while staying stylish. The three looks I have pulled are ideal for a number of occasions and I hope that you take some inspiration.
