Well Happy New Year to you all, hope everyone has finally gotten back to normal after the madness that is the festive period.  I know many of you returned to work today after a lengthy break so well done, you made it in one piece so reward yourself this evening with a coffee and a mince pie.

You might be sick of shopping but now is a great time to pick up those transitional pieces that will carry you through to your new spring wardrobe and you might even pick up a couple of bargains in the sales.  As it’s really not that cold now I’ve been wearing a lot of capes which are that little bit lighter than a heavy winter coat and looks great belted around the waist to give you more shape.

I’m also obsessed with blouses and bought loads before Christmas which I’ll wear now layered with rollnecks to keep myself a bit warmer or under smart blazers for work.  I also think blouses look great under dungarees and denim dresses which I’m wearing constantly!

Boots from River Island

I love the 60’s feel to these patent boots from River Island and the nude colour means you can wear them with anything.

This leather cross body will hold all your essentials and I know I’ll be using this to cart around all my festival essentials when I hit Glastonbury this year.

Leather look dungarees from New Look

Combining two of my favourite things, dungarees and leather this pinafore is top of my shopping list.

Every wardrobe needs a shirt dress and I have to say this khaki number from New Look will still be relevant in your summer wardrobe.  The shape and colour looks good on most people and is smart enough to wear to the office.
