This month’s guest blogger is Cork’s very own David Babington aka Material Boy. David was voted RSVP Fashion Blogger of the Year 2014 and is a regular on the Cork fashion scene. With his flamboyant sense of style he’s one of Cork’s most sartorially forward gents. Follow the link to check out his entertaining style musings at Material Boy. Take Me To The Opera Lane
Once upon a time not so long ago the expected dress code for the Corkonian man was the bootleg jean and polo shirt! Thank the fashion gods that Opera Lane exploded a few years ago in our fabulous city and left an aftermath of Cork men dressing edgy, individual and stylish! We live in the world of social media and celebrity so there’s no excuse for men to be lazy on how they dress. If you’re the metrosexual, lumbersexual, or just sexual then you need to buy your clothing in Opera Lane.
Personally the stores I can’t live without are Topshop, H&M, River Island and New Look. It’s expected that women need to be groomed from head to toe and it’s clear that the guys are starting to take serious pride in their appearance and jumping on board. Fashion can be the perfect way to express a persons confidence and with the right outfit you can take on the world and to do that boys you need to get shopping on Opera Lane! Here’s three of my favourite looks from The Lane.
Casual summer look from H&M : combined look €68
Sophisticated Gentleman look from River Island, combined look €175
Party Look from Topshop, combined look €110
