Last Sunday, 16th August, we brought fashion and food together for our sold-out Opera Lane Fashion Brunch, as part of the Cork on a Fork Festival.
Held at The Bakestone, guests were welcomed with a Blacks of Kinsale gin on arrival before sitting down to a two-course brunch and an afternoon of fashion, conversation and plenty of practical style advice.
Hosted by Julie Evans, the event kicked off with a chat with Joe, owner of The Bakestone, before we heard from Madeleine from Victoria’s Secret Opera Lane, who talked us through their complimentary bra fitting service and the individual approach they take to helping customers find the right fit.
We were also delighted to have Celia Holman Lee among our guests, who shared some words of wisdom on posture and the difference it can make to how our clothes look and feel.
Then it was time for fashion. Image Consultant and Opera Lane Personal Shopper Breeda O’Connell talked guests through a specially curated edit of looks from across Opera Lane, featuring pieces from Mountain Warehouse, Next, H&M, River Island, Skechers, Office and Tommy Hilfiger.
From transitioning your wardrobe from summer into autumn to understanding the new-season trends, the focus was firmly on making fashion wearable. Breeda shared practical advice on interpreting trends in your own way, getting more versatility from the clothes you buy and adapting new ideas to work with your existing wardrobe and personal style.
Guests also heard more about the complimentary personal shopping service available at Opera Lane.
Great food, great fashion, plenty of spot prizes and a brilliant crowd made for a fantastic afternoon.
